THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ON THIS FORUM...SO HERE GOES
I NEED TO REPLACE THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH IN MY '66. I HAVE THE STEERING WHEEL OFF. THE SWITCH IS RIVETED TO AN ALUMINUM PIECE WITH 3 RETAINING SCREWS, THEY SEEM TO HOLD THE STEERING COLUMN FROM SLIDING UP AND DOWN. SO IT LOOKS LIKE THE SWITCH AND ALUMINUM PIECE ARE ONE PIECE. HOWEVER IN THE AUSLEY CATELOG THEY SHOW THE SWITCH ONLY.
QUESTION 1: HOW DO I GET THE SWITCH OUT? IF I PRY IT OUT I'LL BEND THE COLLAR ON THE STEERING COLUMN. I COULDN'T BELIEVE I COULD GET A GEAR PULLER INTO SUCH A SMALL AREA.
QUESTION 2: IN THE AUSLEY'S CATELOG THEY DISPLAY THE SWITCH WITHOUT THE ALUMINUM PIECE, I INTERPRET THIS TO BE A 2 PIECE ITEM, BUT IT SURE LOOKS LIKE ITS ONE PIECE TO ME.
