What's up with this? Been messing with the lights (I no longer get dash lights when I step on the brakes!). All is mostly well, except this minor problem. When I turn on the headlights, my temp guage (this is a guage dash, real temp guage in a '71 Sprint) goes way past 250, like my fuel guage did before I fixed the sending unit.

Please don't tell me my printed circuit is shot; I don't want to hear that!

First of all, be sure that your headlights are properly grounded to the radiator support. Then, make sure that the negative battery terminal has a "pigtail" grounded to the fender. Clean and tighten these ground connections. On my '70 Malibu, the left headlights have a ground lug which attaches to the mounting leg bolt of the voltage regulator. Check all of these ground connections carefully, one at a time.

My 69 was doing that...it was a bad ground at the fender just as Jerry desrcibed above.
