Anyone here using a Buick GN or GNX V-6 in their Chevelle?

There shouldn't be a broblem with having room in the engine compartment, but will it move the car?
Comparable to a hipo small block?
Comparable to a lopo big block?

Turbos are neat, might be an interesting project.

I can't recall seeing one but it should be a bolt-in. They put the SBChevy in the Regal so all you would have to do is use the V-6 Regal mounts, etc in the Chevelle. They might have even put a V-6 in the Malibu(78-85?); not sure if it was the Buick engine. It ought to run like a strong small block. Those GN's can really be tuned if you've got the money.

I drove a new Regal GS last night with the 3.8 V-6 Supercharged engine and Holy Moly! That thing is quick.

I think the Malibus from that era had 3.8 Chevy motors, 229ci 90* v6. I don't think the 4.3v6 cam until the one piece real seal in the late 80's. I may be wrong on the exact introduction date but I am pretty sure on the 3.8 229 v6.

With all the excitement about crate motors these days GM could make a killing if they reintroduced the GN engine package, with turbo, computer, and intercooler as a crate motor.

Well, I may have found one.
Complete, ECM, turbo, heater core (huh??) prolly needs a rebuild
900 bucks
Anyone know what turbo they had on these engines? if I found 2 Thunderbird Turbo Coupes, could I put together a twin turbo?

(got me thinking about giant intercoolers, and NACA ducts in the hood now.
Too bad I'm a dreamer and not a doer huh?
I remember people talking about Dad's 78 Malibu wagon and how it was weird that they put a Buick V-6 into a Chevy. It was the one gallon V-6 and had the metric trans.

I wonder if Jeff Smith would print a buildup of the "GNSS Chevello"
