Just got my car running with new motor. Notice oil on the ground and see that it is coming from the vent tube (top right hand of trans). Drained some oil so with hot, in park, and running the level was at the bottom of the full range. Oil is still coming out of the vent tube whenever the car is running.

What are things that can cause this?? I hope I am overlooking something. The dipstick is a Lokar unit that was with car when I bought it so I dont know the part number but I believe its correct.

If it's coming out when you start the car and it hasn't warmed up yet then I would suspect a crack internal to the case.

my old mans 400 always did this and some people told him it was fairly common after the trans has had a lot of passes on it, so he just ran an overflow to it and hasn't had any problems with it since
