I'am about to buy a tumbler and some media to clean up rusty nuts, bolts and other misc small parts for my restoration. Question is, does anybody out there have any experience with this device. Any input would be helpful.

Thanks !!!!:D

I fear a tumbler may cause a lot of little dents and scratches. I have been handloading for years and cleaning my brass before reloading. I would suggest the RCBS vibrator. Walnut shell media with the jeweler's rouge already impregnated in it. You can get it from Cabela's or your local gun shop/sporting goods store.
Hope I helped.

The only problem with a vibrating tumbler used for bolts and such, they are heavy and sit on the bottom while the walnut circulates around. It will clean them, but it takes longer and you can't put too much in at once.

Cartridge brass rides around with the walnut.
(experience based on a RCBS vibrating tumbler and a Dillon CV-2001)

There will always be differing opinions. You can say that water is wet and get people that say you're wrong.
I've been using my vibrating cleaner since they came out and the tumbler for over 40 years. Nary a problem.
PS... Dillon equipment sucks.

But hey---- that's my opinion
