Has any body used the tubular upper A-arms from Pole Position ?http://www.polepositionrp.com/proseriespartsmuscle.html
Was told they would work on my '69 Chevelle with the tall spindle brake conversion but when I spoke to the guys at Global West they said I might have driving problems after adjustment due to the change in arm lenghth, and of course suggested thiers. Who to believe ?

Well... first you might get the most accurate information from the actual manufacturer rather than a competitor. Global West makes some good stuff but at Cadillac prices. And they do pretty much make a bolt-on ready to go product.

Some of the other guys like Pole Position make a product that requires a bit more knowledge and understanding. Often these products are more inexpensive as well. Reading their install instructions there is reference to a maximum of 1" of thread exposure, suggesting that their arms have up to a 2" range of adjustment. Chances are pretty good that they can shorten up as required by the B-body spindle conversion. But you could always call them up and confirm it. Or call Marcus at SC&C who sells these arms too. You can find the SC&C contact info in a search here as this has been discussed a few times now ;-)

Sure, believe GW. I'm sure they are just looking out for your best interest by recommending against one of their biggest competitors. The guys at GW either don't know crap about suspension design theory or for some reason insist on trying to ruin what is already an impaired chassis design.

Nothing wrong with PP arms, much better than GW or any of the other alternatives. Increasing/decreasing the UCA length will have a negligible change on the design when using a tall spindle….it is already ruined by using that spindle anyway.

If your looking for tubular uppers try Spartan Rod Works. I have a set with 78 Camaro spindles and disc brakes and the car drives great. The price is pretty good too. They sell them on ebay for a discount if your interested. Do a search on TC there is alot of info on these control arms here from alot of guys using them. Here is a link for the website.

See post near this one by Bman . At $245.00 Each for uppers only you can get uppers and lowers for $900 from TRZ w/ ball joints etc.. any way you cut it the control arm deal is expensive.
