Does anybody have a detailed diagram of a correctly wired trunk mounted battery? I would also be installing a battery disconnect
switch outside the trunk. How does this get wired correctly? In the positive path? In the negative path? Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else has done it. I could tell you how to make it work but I can't be sure if it a sanctioned method.

Bill, this is my second response. The first one seems to have been lost.

Anyway, the test by NHRA tech is for you to start your engine. Then they must be able to stop your engine by turning the battery disconect switch to OFF.

The wiring for that is fairly easy.

I ran a battery cable from the terminal on the starter to the switch on the rear bummper. Then from the switch to the battery. I grounded the battery to the frame.

I also had a 1 wire altenator. I ran the wire directly to the battery. Do not connenct the alt wire to the starter terminal.

The of power source for everything lights, fuel pump, ignition etc. came from the starter terminal.

Once that switch was turned off all power was disconnected.
