Changed the springs to 550lbs front and 150lbs rear. It made a huge difference. I've got the ride hight pretty close, probably not more than 1/2" of fine tuning.

For some reason, maybe because that's how much I put in my truck,I put way to much tire pressure in it,It was like 37 hot. Dropped it down to 32. Made a noticeable difference.

Now it really is down to fine tuning. Shocks are at at recommended setting for performance street driving.

I hit 100 miles today, I'm getting fairly confident that there will be no major issues. I can just roll in to throttle up to 4k rpm coming out of a turn and it'll start spinning the tire with ease. Very predictable.

I'm still working on getting a tune, hopefully that will happen this week. The current tune is probably 90%. It does set a lean code and a few small areas to address. But it never dies or runs strange in any way.

Had been working on the tune with a guy from another state. Everything was done through one phone call updates sent via email and one remote tuning session where he was controlling my laptop from his location. I ended up with a tune that is very close and will allow me to accumulate maybe a 1000 miles before a dyno tune.

Today, we went on a 200 mile drive for a totall of 600. We drove up the freeway about 40 miles and then headed over to Pacifica, just south of San Francisco. From there we headed south on hyw1 through the Devels slide tunel and then along the coast for about 60 miles to Santa Cruz. Then headed up hyw 9 to some of the best mountain roads around. Headed north on hyw 35 to Alice's restaurant, they were to crowded though.

The car performed perfect on everything we did. It's capable of the well being manered and can become a beast when needed.

The mountain roads mentioned earlier were the highlight of the day. This thing is so much fun to drive. The LS3/T56 are just awesome, the suspension the brakes all of the mods put into the car paid of on this road.

Car looks amazing! Must be a blast to drive. I couldn’t get enough of the nervous “okay, OKAY...” from the video:giggle:
Reminded me a lot of the sound of my car. Great that you put that many miles on it and no issues. Except for the camera operator telling you to slow down :)
It was a bit of a mile stone to accomplish 600 miles with no mechanical issues.

My wife tends to over react, but she is all in on the car.

Wow, it's been quite a while since I updated this thread.

Back in July I got the car on the chassis dyno for the final tune and to get some power numbers. It made 447 RWHP and 428 RWTQ. I was very happy with the results and the runs and drives like a dream.

On the down side, on the final dyno pull, the power steering pump failed and left me scrambling to Uber home (45 miles) to get my truck borrow a trailer and get back up there to trailer the car home.

And then things got worse. I dropped the car in the garage, backed in. Proceeded to replace power steering pump, when I made a bone head move. I jacked the car up set the jack stands but left the floor jack inplace but I also left the handle horizontal. Walked back in the garage to get something came back around the front of the car never saw the jack handle tripped landing hard on my right knee fracturing my knee cap. This was my first broken bone in 60 years of doing dumb stuff. I actually healed rather quickly and was back on my mountain bike in four weeks.

After the braking my knee we decided to cancel our plans to drive the car to Reno for Hot August Nights. We're actually starting to make plans to go this year.

I did have another failure leaving me stranded and calling a tow truck. I'll take credit for this one. I was driving to show the car to a few buddies when I thought I heard a unusual noise, pulled over lift the hood but didn't notice anything. Go ahead show the car off thinking all is ok.

Once I leave where I was, in short order my Dakota Digital dash gives me a high temp warning. I pull to the curb lift the hood and see the FEAD belt is off.

The culprit, the alternator pulley came loose. The pully has a cover over the nut and while the belt was inplace appling tension it wasn't obvious that it was loose.

You can see in the photos the damage to the pull and my solution to avoid by a new one.

I've got close to 3,000 miles on the car now and I feel all the issues are behind me now. I got the carpet in with some DEI heat padding under the carpet. The car has become incredibly quiet and has no issues with heat entry into the interior. I also had a trunk mat made with a heavy rubber backing that is really nice.

I've changed the oil in the trans and rear end. At this point I've changed the engine oil three times. I cut the filter open each time and pour the used oil through a paint strainer, it's been very clean every time.

Pulled a spark plug recently and it looks excellent.

This is the last piece of the interior. I ordered new TMI seats back in September and was told 8 to 12 weeks for delivery. We'll, 6 months later and they're here. The seat are really nice. I haven't driven any distance in them yet but I believe they will be way more comfortable than the factory seats.

I also got a small TMI console mainly for the cup holders. It sat a lot higher than I thought so I took it apart and cut it down 3 inches.

Did the TMI seat brackets fit correctly? On my 65 they didn't fit at all and had to cut them all apart and reweld to fit my floor. The driver's side seat was offset over 1" toward the trans tunnel also. Very noticable when setting in the seat. Moved it back to steering wheel centerline.

I do like those without the TMI logo! Wish I had spent the extra $ and deleted it on mine.

Looking forward to getting mine on the dyno this summer, hoping for similiar numbers!

Interesting you ask that, Jeff. Was your car originally a bench car? Mine was. I just had to modify the brackets on my Corbeau seats when test fitting them. They leaned toward the middle of the car and were too high in the back. I had to cut and re-weld the brackets on them as well
