TOM WILSON'S CHEVELLE TRIVIA--------THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A 1BL CARB ON A CHEVY V-8! PERIOD. The only Chevy engine to EVER get a 1bl carb (in a Chevelle) was a straight six cylinder engine.

...And I thought I was the only one who felt this answer was incorrect. Someone would have to really be persuasive to convince me that a 1 bbl was the base V8 OEM carburetor.

Yes, you are correct and I was wrong. The "Standard Catalog of Chevrolet" lists the Rochester 7024101 carburetor as a one-barrel. After reading your notes I double checked it with other sources and you are correct. It is a two-barrel.
