Fortunately on drivers door and garage door frame and wall. damaged.wall is easy fix car door should not be too bad. This is a 2004R trans in a 66. I was working on carb and dist with car ramming. And drivers door partially open. All. Of a sudden it started going backwards. Door hit garage wall frame and fortunately stopped.

what can I do so this never happens again, besides blocking the wheels and setting the parking brake? Is there some kind of adjustment? 66 steering column modified for T350 and hooked up to the 2004R.

Your shift rod must be out of adjustment and not exactly "clicked in" inside the tranny.

Pic of car door would be better. If the garage door jamb is that bad, your door must be worse.

Didn’t know there was any kind of adjustment inside the trany, the trans was just recently rebuilt. First time this has happen and the trans was installed about 9 months ago. I was thinking there was something wrong with the linkage adaptation.

Sorry I miss read. Didn’t know there was an adjustment in shift rod.

The shift lever could be forced to stop when moving it to park at the end of it's travel, however, the rod hasn't moved the rooster comb inside the tranny enough for it to click in all the way.
