I put a Super T-10 in my '66. It had a T-350. I used the same crossmember in the stock position, and changed the slip yoke. The driveshaft did not need to be shortened.
Overall, a pretty painless swap, including the clutch linkage. Except for the welding of the frameside pivot ball bracket to the frame (for the Z-bar), it was a pure toolbox bolt-in.
your experience seems to contradict an earlier message that says a super t10 and turbo 400 are same length.......and another message that says t350 and t400 are different lengths ???
Turbo 400, ST-10, late Muncie, and Nash/Richmond 5-speeds are all the same length, which is 3/4" longer than a Powerglide, Turbo 350, T-10, and early Muncie's... Hope this helps... Crash
