Basically, there are ONLY TWO tranny cross members for 68-72 Chevelles:
The Conv and Elky have a shorter cross member because their frames are boxed. Thus, the distance between frame rails is narrower for those two bodys.
The FACTORY 4sp cars have 2 brackets welded to them for attachment of the shifter------------------BUT THE CROSS MEMBER ITSELF IS STILL THE SAME!!!!
Those brackets for attachment of the factory 4sp are ONLY for the FACTORY 4sp shifter-----------------WHICH IS JUNK! Therefore, when using a shifter such as a Hurst, those brackets are NOT needed because all aftermarket shifters attach to the tranny tail housing.
