Mechanically, a 2004r would be a direct swap into a car with an existing th350.
Correct?

The mount for the crossmember is approximately about 6" towards the rear on a 200. May need a different crossmember and exhaust modification. And then, the shifter of coarse!
Same drive shaft though, right?

Swapped my TH350 for a 2004R a couple of years ago. As previously stated, requires moving the cross-member back several inches. On my '69 convertible frame, all of the necessary holes were there although I've heard of others having to drill two new rearward holes. With the cross-member moved, it did require modifying the exhaust to route properly. Mine is column shifted and I used a linkage kit from Kugel to allow the range to get all four gears. The trans cooling lines are close enough to use the existing, but the flow is reversed from the TH350 so you have to make sure it's reversed going into your trans cooler (radiator or external). No changes required for the driveshaft.

Yes, should not need to modify driveline. I looked at a 200, ended up with a 700, and had to cut my driveline 3" with the 700.
What made you go with the 700 over the 200?

The mount holes should be the existing holes for a turbo 400 and I think the 4 speed manual, but as stated no driveshaft mods needed. I like the 200 over the 700 because it doesn't have the super low first gear, but it is a little lower then the 350

I was looking for an overdrive, found the 700 in operational condition and at a really good price. Jumped on it, performed a few upgrades and installed it. No regrets, the low first turned out to be quite fun!:devilish:
Lol. Three sets of tires later.......

My buddy has a 67 Camaro. It has a small block, T-350, and a 10 bolt rear with 3:73's. He wanted to go overdrive. Another buddy of mine has a 71 Chevelle with a rebuilt 2004R and he wanted to swap to a stick. So they cut a deal...

We did the T-350 to 2004R swap in a day on a lift. My buddy ordered a custom tubular crossmember but otherwise the swap was pretty direct. As I recall we had to mount and adjust the TV cable (there was a custom carb mount that he ordered) and the dipstick tube is different. He ordered a custom flexible dipstick tube for the 2004R trans and that was it.

He drove the Camaro home the same day.
