I have a t 400 3000stall b&m slap shifter 3fwd 1 rev. i have only rev and 1st gear wont go into 2nd and 3rd locks up the rear end. any thoughts?

My first thought is you need to adjust the shifter.

3rd locks up rearend sounds like it is actually in park, not third gear.

Disconnect the shifter, put transmission park, put shifter in park and adjust the linkage/cable to match then see what you have.
