2nd time out, too much rain this year so far. I wanted to get better testing than this, but since it was a bracket race too. I was rushed to get things done and I'm not sure what to think yet. My son was telling me that someone put down antifreeze in the left lane last night at TNT and it appears that I found it. Mark P. from this website was kind enough to send me his 1100cfm SV1 to try out and see what I thought. Its mine if I choose to buy it but today wasnt a very good day for comparison. I lied Garret about the mph difference between the two, thought first pass was 102.84, my bad, couldnt read in low light conditions:noway: My Holley throttle bracket wouldnt fit, the accelerator pump on the SV1 was in the way so bracket was mounted cockeyed, which also had the cable crooked and springs crooked. I did absolutely no changes to the carb, I bolted it on just like Mark had it set up for his car, it started, it idled, it ran so I rush to rnd 1 of eliminations. It seemed to rev quicker but 60fts don't show it, it pulled harder as evidence in 330' improvement although not much, and it mph'ed higher, although only .63. Once I get a correct throttle bracket then I can do some jet changes to see how much improvement I can get. The d/a ranged from 2760 to 3000' once I turned the kestrel on after rnd 3 of eliminations, it looked like it could rain any minute. It was a good thing that I got to go racing, but I don't think I've ever been so scatter brained as today. Once I get back in some kind of racing routine it will all be good. Not to mention all runs were made on slicks that were new in March of last year. It also seemed to help the 330' when I adjusted the accelerator pump. Anyway I picked up .019(330') .038(1/8th) in e.t. and .63 in mph in the 1/8th today. Once I get the carb dialed in, maybe I can get another back to back test and have a little better data. I will have new slicks on the car when I go visit Delbert at his low elevation track ;) on May 7th as long as the weather appears to be decent, meaning NO RAIN.

well at least you got to run Bob, that's the main thing in my book. Nice runs for that DA and those 11' and 12's are pretty good 330's. Should be interesting if you get a chance to dial in the SV.....

The SV-1 is showing promise. At least it improved with some tuning still yet to be done. Good deal:thumbsup:

Bob, as always, thanks for sharing. It will be interesting to see how that SV-1 works out for you. BTW, don't the SV1's use Dominator type manifolds? If so, were you using an adapter on your manfiold or another manifold all together? I don't know if that would matter as far performance, but I was just curious as to what the SV-1's use.

Congrats Bob, at least you got some seat time. I was ready to race my car yesterday, but the rains came:sad:. It's been almost a month since I raced my car, but hopefully the weather will cooperate next weekend. I'm kinda anxious to hear how the SV1 works out after some more testing:yes:.

Great runs Bob. Looking forward to more details on the SV-1 and how it works once you get a few more passes on it.

Hey Bob during racing I want to try and avoid you and Guy, however, if we line up against each other don't red light because I am going to put down whatever you dial. I just want the heads up during the race for the braggin rights! :D Your coming down for the money. My wife would take the money anyways. Then I will just sit back and drink a few beers and bullsh!t with you guys. :beers:

Not bad for just bolting it on, hopefully you'll see some more solid improvements when you get everything ironed out. Note I used a small aluminum spacer with 2 holes in it for the springs - mounted to the top fuel bowl bolt, worked like a charm for the springs.

Also, if you swap the shooters with the other set you'll get a slightly stronger hit of gas off-idle, sounds like you might not need it though.

Good luck next week!
