I finised painting my car about a month ago and now noticed a small area on the side of the fender near the top, that has what looks to be bubling on the base, under the clear.
I tried cutting it with 2000 paper, but it is definitly under the clear.
This area is about 3x 4" with 5 or 6 bubbles. Color is marina blue.

My question:
Can I sand this area down with 600 and reshoot it? b/clear?
I really dont want to shoot the whole fender again if I dont have to.
Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

little hard to see from pics,I take it the bumps were not there before? If they weren't, you will have to get sand down to the bottom of them to find out the problem is, then take the door apart and blend into the door (just color, then clear entire both panels) to make sure the repair can't be seen. sorry not great news I know. Repair begins at the source of failure. Your door bubbles are 1" away from the fender. You will have to blend into the fender. I'd wait to see what else rears it's ugly head. More could emerge. Is there any evidence of "seeds" starting elsewhere? Sorry, that is disappointing.

The fender seems to be ok, The white specs are water spot or trash on the camera lens. The real problem is on the fender ( little bubble areas, looks like under the clear on the base)
Primer was NP75 Sherwin Williams (good stuff)
Not sure what caused it.

Can I sand the bad area down with 600 grit, scuff the clear around problem area with 1500.
Then shoot base to blend in and clear to blend?
