Well after trying to build a motor since Feb I am finally getting close.I was originally going to have them build and dyno, but money is getting tight and I want to learn.I need some torque specs.

454 70's block 4 bolt main
Heads studs in to block
Heads studs aluminum heads installed MLS gasket
4 bolt main caps bolts
rod bolts
Damper bolt(ATI aluminum super damper)
Flywheel to engine bolts
intake bolts aluminum
all hardware is arp
Does any above require locktite?

Do NOT torque the head studs into the block. screw them in finger tight with sealer. If you use some double nut technique to torque them into the block all you'll have is a cracked block.

Thanks good to know. How about head torque is it the same as factory cast iron torque with bolts? How about mains same as factory, didn't know if the ARP bolts and steel crank changed anything?

Not sure if you intended to use ARP bolts and studs, but virtually every single thing I have ever bought from ARP comes with very good instructions as far as how to install them and what torque poundage to go to. QUite often they will want you to lubricate a bolt or stud prior to install, just read the instructions and you will have no problems at all

Edit: Now I see where you said it is all ARP, you will have no problems if you follow there directions

The machinist took the main bolts out of the box and installed them to line hone. The heads studs I bought from him opened box new.I can ask him for torque specs, he is just always so busy when I go in there I feel like I'm bothering him. When you walk in there you have to deal with the counter guy and if you need the machinist he has to go and get him.Hoping to get the block back from the machine shop in a week or two. This is my first build just trying to get everything ready.

Try this: http://www.arp-bolts.com/Catalog/Catalog.html

Its an e-version of the ARP catalog and a quick glance it appears it gives you everything you want to know.
