Rich,
I usually torque them to around 55 lbft. Make sure to check and see if any of the holes go into water or an intake port (depending on which engine) and put some sealer on them if needed. I am sure there is a torque spec that is in the instructions, I have some at the shop I can look at, or call ARP, they have a good tech line.

They do go into the intake port.

7/16" guideplates came today. Got them put on and torqued the studs to 50#. I can't find the paperwork for the studs for the life of me....My son had a baseball game tonight so I probably won't make any more progress tonight. I hope to finish the lifters, pushrods and rocker arms tomorrow night. So I am getting fairly close. Joe maybe I can slip up this weekend and take that torque converter off of your hands. I have found an issue with the motor mounts that I got. They are Energy Suspension supposedly for a big block. The motor mounts are not wide enough to fit over the frame stands. Does anyone know if the 307 frame stands are wider than the big block's? I am pretty sure I need to switch the frame mounts anyway. Not real sure where I can pick up a pair though. How is your car running? Planning any trips to the track? As hot as it has been I may wait until fall to make a few passes..
