Ahhhh, my favorite auto show has been cancelled via the discovery channel. Now I have to go back to bootleggin' episodes on the 'net.

Dang you Discovery channel!!!

And here I had trained myself for british humor via Monty Python schenanigans.

I don't understand this. American Chopper and American Hot Rod live on (what a bunch of yahoo's those characters are) but this quality show gets thrown to the garbage here in the states?

Don't worry......it'll come back as a sub-standard americanized version;) .

You're right though......it was the second best show Discovery Channel had, after Mythbusters obviously.

Maybe we should start an e-mail campaign to get it back on ?

That show is smart, funny and educational.

I loved that show... No wonder why I couldn't find it the other night...

I like how when they testdrive a car, the spend a great deal of time showing it and talking about it... Rather than just some 2 minutes of air time...

Some really cool cars, even if many aren't available here or are way out of my pricerange...

Damn...

Mythbusters... I used to like that show alot, but now that they added their assistants, it seems to have gotten a little cheesier...

Well, I got a reply back from Discovery Channel after I e-mailed them. Here it is:

Thank you for contacting Discovery Channel. We appreciate you taking the
time to share your thoughts and concerns with us regarding "Top Gear" and
our other programming. Your comments will be forwarded to our program
management and executives and will be taken into consideration.

The "Top Gear" show was not "taken off the air," but rather ran its
pattern. It is being revamped for a U.S. audience and will return later
this year. You can look for it in December. We apologize for any
inconvenience.

A reply to this message is not necessary. For more information about
schedules and programming check our website, www.discovery.com.

If you have any further inquiries or comments, please contact us via our
webform at http://extweb.discovery.com/ViewerRelations.

Thank you again for expressing your interest in our programming.

Sincerely,
Joy

I hope their "revamp" doesn't mean that Boyd, Paul Senior and Junior (or idiots just like them) are going to be hosting it and arguing about how bad an Enzo Ferrari is over their '32 highboy or S&S powered kit bike

Back to bootleggin' ;)
