Posted previous question on 66 a/c install, and I need some opinions. So far only mods to a complete #'s matching 66 SS is disc brakes up front. I have a 66 a/c dash thinking about putting in with aftermarket compact unit a/c only. Car is the "lower" end SS, 325 hp, PG, non-posi, no power anything. However, the #'s match, and only 67000 miles on it. I would probably keep it a year or so then possibly sell it. Question.... should I keep it as original as possible for resale value, or just keep all the parts and not do anything drastic? I do have all the orig grake stuff, dash, etc so far. Would appreciate any opinions, I'm not trying to pay off a mortgage with sale of the car either......

Since you will probably only keep this car a short while (EG - 2 years) I would go stock.

If resale value is not important to you, or you plan to keep it longer, then go with the mods if that is where your interests are.

Whichever way you go Brian, have fun with it.

Good luck.

On the one hand, there's the "make it the way you want it." Which is paramount.

But on the other hand, if you don't plan on keeping the car very long, and its a number matching car, then why would you spend the time and effort adding extra stuff. I agree that the brake upgrade is very nice, and even with the "matching numbers" might be a decent selling point, but as for the A/C, lots of folks probably don't care when they are buying an SS. They probably want the muscle image. Sure A/C is nice, but the time and expense would justify the installation if you just going to sell it in a few short years, especially since the matching numbers cars are getting harder to find.

Just my opinion...
