I am considering upgrading my tko600 or getting a t56 magnum for my Chevelle. At the moment Its making around 600trq so I want some added security the trans won't take a dump and the ability to shift at 7000rpm easily. My question here is will this upgrade do everything I want or would I be better of buying a t56? Then there is the cost side of things as well.

I just put a magnum in my 70 this week (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=481345) and am very pleased with everything I have seen/read and experienced so far!

I'm only shifting at 63-6500 (570 tq to the pavement) but am loving it! A good friend has the tko600 behind an LS in his 70 nova and while still very nice, not nearly as smooth as this one, in my opinion.

I love my T-56 Magnum, but since you already have a TKO600, you might try contacting Liberty Gear. I have heard they do real nice things with the TKO.

I have two Face-plated TKO 600's and they are a very fast shifting trans. Cost was about $1200.00 for the basic package. They can upgrade to handle the torque.
