I've searched through the archives and couldn't find what I was looking for so I'm gonna ask anyway!

What's the widest tire that will fit comfortably on my stock 66 El Camino?

I have 255/60/15's & 235/60/15's on my 66 EC and 275/60/15's on the rear of my 67 EC (virtually identical to the 66). If you roll the inner lip you could probably fit 295's.

I've had 275x50x15 on 15x8 'vette rallies when the car set at stock height. Now I'm running 265x50x15 on 15x10's w/5 1/2" offset Since I modified the suspension and dropped it 2 1/2" I had to go to 265x50x15 on 15x10's w/5 1/2" offset and still had to roll the inner fender lip because the car sets over the tires so much.
Ride height is the biggest issue the: up the car up the tide size, and visa/versa.
