Anyone got tips on installing a Hedman sbc 1 3/4" headers on 67 chevelle? I dont recall the process I used the previous times. Seems to be more of pain this time around.

You could do the ol disconnect motor mounts and gently jack up engine to gain some clearance.
I've done this but not on a Chevelle.

I did end up doing that some. That did help!

What a pain those big headers are. They are on now.

1-3/4" are not big! They are really the smallest big block headers you will find. Try installing some 2-3/8" tubes or stepped headers.
Yeah, I know. I was talkin about SBC and street stuff, but I didnt clear that up.

I wonder if anyone else on here installed a set of Mickey Thompson Super Scavenger Headers back in the day? Now "that" was fun, actually easier than you might imagine. That design was way ahead of its time. 2" tubular steel headers to a 3-1/2" collector. I don't recall having any issues installing in my '67 Chevelle SS other than loosening a motor mount and slightly jacking up the engine. When I think about it, those tubes were easy to maneuver because they went into the long collectors at different lengths, the equal tubing wasn't all scrunched up beside the engine on each side before the collector, making the install a heck of a lot easier. Again, why don't any header manufacturers do this these days? Dumb if you ask me! But, what do I know?
