Team,
This is the first time I've ever rebuilt a motor. I'm taking my time and doing everything right to avoid a leak. I installed a new fel-pro timing gasket last night. I dapped just a touch of RTV in once place to hold it on the block while I started the bolts. I didn't RTV or pre oil the seal. Does anyone have any secrets for avoiding a huge leak?

I'd replace the seal with a NAPA or Mr. Gasket. It actually think the NAPA seal is a Mr G seal. But then, that's just me. I'm somewhat tainted. Pull the front end down 3 times (in the car) to stop a front seal oil leak on a new engine build and you might feel the same way.
