I wrote a message earlier about having back fire through my carb. At first I thought it was my carb because I didn't touch the engine but I did take off the carb to clean it. Then several people told me it could be timing and I did find the distributor to be a little loose. Could it be both? The butterfly on my carb has no spring back, and the electric choke doesn't work either. It is a old holley 600cfm. I am thinking of buying a new carb, should I do this? If so should I stick with 600cfm? - I have a strong 283
