i was putting a tilt col. in my 70 last night, and when i put the ign switch on the column and ck. the adjustment, it was reversed-when i turn the ign to the start position, the rod moves backwards, towards the driver, not the front like it should-i had the ign switch off when i painted it, wondering if there is some type of bellcrank arrangment that somehow the rod went over center, and if i play with it will it go back to the correct way? hope this makes since
wish i had an exploded view of the col, then i would know how it hooks up in there
anyone had this problem b4

Tooooooooooooooooo easy, remove the switch, flip it over. You're done!

TRUST ME!

Oh ya, by the way, it is VERY, VERY difficult to do the switch flip with the column in the car. You need to flip the switch, and connect the rod with the column out of the car. But it is still too easy! :D
Of course the connector for the wire harness also has to be flipped over, and after 35+yrs in the car, the harness will be somewhat stiff, but it will still flip over. Thus, it really becomes a plug and play process.

Tom is telling the truth...I ran into this myself a couple years ago and after a bit of head scratching, I figured out that all I needed to do was flip the switch (although I seriously questioned myself if it really could be that simple!)

i went ahead and ordered the correct switch, ($40 shipping overnite, found out auto parts stores carry them-o well)but for the time being i tried flipping the switch, but it then hits the bracket that holds the column in place-one of the mtg. screws is kind of behind the bracket
my switch will be here today, but thought i would try it anyway
