Through firewall on 69 with AC? Where?

Hey guys, rewiring my car with the AAW Update kit. At the same time, Im cleaning up my Terminator wiring harness thats currently coming into the cab low on the passenger side. I wanted to go through the firewall center high right behind the intake....but when looking under the dash the duct work box covers up most of the access space. At least thats how it appears.

So I guess this is 2 part question. If i remove the duct work box, is there space to run the wiring through there and put the box back? Or is my only option to run the new wiring harness up higher on the driver side behind the pedal assembly somewhere?
