I put on my new Moroso solid engine mounts and set the engine without the transmission in the engine bay. I just want to make sure the new oil pan, motor mounts etc.. was going to clear and line up without any issues. What was weird is the front end hardly came down at all. Usually when you set the engine in there my front end drops down to wear the headers just clear the ground.
The only changes I did was change the front drums to discs. I measured the new spindle and it is the same length as my old spindle. Not sure why the front end didn't drop much. I realize that I will be adding other components such as radiator, carb, trans, etc.. but surely that isn't enough weight to make a difference. The only other change is replacing my steel front bumper for a new fiberglass bumper. Surely that weight savings isn't what caused this.
Any ideas? Or is it just a matter of getting the rest of the stuff in the engine bay area? I definitely don't want the front end sitting up. :noway:
