That red interior is beautiful! They were smart leaving it stock, I like the valve covers too! Probably worth all of their asking price!

I wonder what the reserve is? My favorite Chevelles are the 66/67 and my favorite color is white. Love the red gut also. - Man, If I could only win that damn lotto :D

Aye! One of the best colour combos for a '66 SS for sure.

I have never seen those valve covers before. Are they a new release? Since you're going the subtle modification route, I think a set of Chapparal valve covers would be ultra cool. Good luck finding those!

I'll take the 2nd one :D

A question though since I'm not up on my 66/67's.

On the 69/70's, the carpet is cut and dressed over the seat brackets.

I noticed on the 2nd car it wasn't.

Is bolting directly onto the carpet correct in 66/67?

It's a common restoration mistake in 69/70.

It is a common restoration mistake in 66/67's too unfortunately :(

But even I would be hard pressed to criticize the few mistakes seen on my friend's car here.. it's one of the ones I always include in my list when I say they are about 10 BEST of the BEST in the country 66 SS's!

He can fix that carpet blunder this afternoon :D

The carpet/seat issue was fixed a long time ago on this car.

Boy, I certainly hope I didn't come across as if I was criticizing, it was just a detailing question. It's not like I called it a Blunder or anything. :D

I've got to quit looking at these 66/67's before I get hooked.

In the FWIW category.. these two cars are not even in the same league together, so for folks to be comparing them or even saying I like the second one better, lets just all be fair in the knowledge that they are not even close to being comparable, let alone the second one is Not up for sale :D

The second car is a Restored to Original nut and bolt Frame Off, with painstaking research to do things Correctly.. and it's Numbers Matching!! The first one is a Nice looking car that I would be not afraid to wager, up close and personal.. is a nothing more, nothing less... Nice looking car.. and hopefully the owner will soon realize this in his pricing of it..because the starting bid is likely too high as it is.. but ya never know what people are willing to spend.... let alone a CLAIM of it being a Real L-78 Car?? Huh?? On what grounds? what has he shown to make such a claim? This is a what's it worth Forum... so I would say, the car for sale is likely a $28,500 low end, $32,500 high end car... and I may be generous in that amount because I can't see it with my own two eyes.. white do cover up a bunch!! and is it even the original color combo for the car?? Spent the Money for a Gardner Exhaust but still bought a 67 Chevelle Battery :( and 67 seats...when I see these type of obvious visual mistakes, it always gives Pause of Thought as to what I will find on personal inspection.

Nice looking Car, great Color Combo, absolutely! But the lack of bids is IMO is because it's already priced too high.

I like them both but I wouldnt exactly say this is an apples to oranges comparison, the car on Ebay isnt that far off of becomming stock again if any owner wanted to change it back. They are still very similiar cars.
