I have had too much aggravation with this chrome shop here in Henderson, NV, I guess it's time to call it quits and find another place to re-chrome my bumpers.
Since I got a long weekend I figured I'd get allot of work done and installing the bumpers was on the list. I got the rear one on after hours of work trying to fit it after replacing the entire rear of the car, OK fine, then I went to put on the front bumper and noticed the chrome was pealing off, YES I said allot that I can't repeat here.
I had lots of trouble with this chrome shop, it took them almost 4 months to "get it right" sending the bumpers back to CA to be redone over and over. I had the bumper sitting in the back bedroom since it was done so nothing got to it. So now I think I'll call Ogdon Chrome and spend more money I did not have to....ahhh the restoration world!

Regards,
Ed

Try the folks over in Elizabethton, TN... Tri-City Plating. Old school in the best sense of the word.

Doesn't cost much more to send a bumper to TN than Cal.

Two words for you. CHARGE BACK. The credit card processing companies side immediately with the purchaser and figure out the details later. I know this for a fact.

We have had a rash of false "problems" with the pre-painted 5th gen Camaro parts we sell. Customer does a chargeback, gets his money back and keeps our parts. Then sells the parts on a forum board. Even with proof of shipping delivery confirmation. Easy way to make money huh? We have been screwed many times recently over this. It sounds like you have a legit claim. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ogden has free shipping both ways and has received positive reviews.

May get burned sometimes in this business and others but people need to do their research before contracting a job or buying parts.

So what you are saying is that I am stupid for not doing research, maybe I DID do research did you ever think of that? At least I am not pre-judging people....geez.

I also know Ogdon does free shipping and they check out good, that is why I am going with them (read above). I talked to them at their display when they were here during the Barrett-Jackson auction last year, nice people.

It's a general statement of advice and I was not judging. I said people and not you in particular. You have a defensive posture for no reason. I don't see where I aggressively stated you or anyone else was stupid. Never understood why people extract more from a forum statement than is necessary.

I have customers who got screwed by other shops because they failed to do research before I got the job. Or they bought products without educating themselves. This business can be quite brutal at times. I quoted Keith and told him Ogden has free shipping, I did not over look your Ogden statemant.

Tri City There the best, havw used them on 4 builds.
Had a spot on a 65 EL-Camino ( there a chevelle:beers: ) the front bumper at the point. The Chrome was thin and had copper shown through.

One Call and they exhanged it. It was two weeks away from Fall Carlisle

I exchanged it there NO problem ( the bumper was over a year on the car... )

I called Tri-City and they only wanted $325 but the turn around time is 6 to 8 weeks and I pay shipping both ways, so I called Ogdon, they wanted $575 plus an environmental fee of 5% which comes to $603.75 shipping included. I am not sure what it would cost to ship the bumper across the country but I know it ain't cheep. So by the time I am done with this bumper it'll cost me almost a thousand bucks.

I dont think its as expensive as you think. I also know im in Indiana and it isnt as far however i paid 750 for 2 bumpers redone and shipped from them to me. It cost me 38 bucks to ship it to them. So for under $800 bucks I got both bumpers done with shipping. I also have a lifetime warranty.
