This vortec-headed 383 small block was built with a VooDoo hydraulic roller and oe-style lifters. Valve train seems very noisy. The engine has around 50 miles on it.

It's got standard 7.2 inch pushrods in it, and it seems looking at the pattern on top of the valve, maybe these are a bit long? Wear-pattern on valve tip seems offset away from the carb-side.

Anyone here have the experience to recognize the wear pattern and tell me if I'll be better off switching to 7.150 pushrods? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure my 355 I went with 7.100 pushrods because I thought mine with a 7.200 were too long. I had afr 195 heads on mine with the .535/.550 voodoo hydraulic roller. But I built that motor 7 years ago.
