You just about can't make this stuff up. Boyer deliberately spinning to give Truex a chance at the Chase. Skinner being ordered to pit on green during the last lap to give Lagano another spot, knocking Gordon out and putting LAgano a spot in the chase?

There is even talk that NASCAR might just make it a 14 car Chase, re-instating GOrdon and Neuman.

"Oh what a dangerous web we weave, when at first we try to deceive".

That's the idea behind the driver's meetings...."here's the script boys, and could ya spice it up a little, maybe some 4 letter words for your crewchief?? Don't worry, it's delayed but Fox has requested more controversy and you know they pay the bills. So we've got Jimmy's beard, good good, everyone has their trophy wife in the pits??, good good, remember, keep those respected soft drinks handy for the after-race interviews and Carl, hope you stretched well, you're up for the win so you know what you gotta do!? Okay boys, grab you're advertising suits...err..fire suits and let's go racing, Boogitty, Boog....ay, you get it, same as last week."

If Gordon was half the driver he used to be, he would've won it from the pole without any drama.

I don't watch but maybe half a dozen races anymore. NASCAR has ruined what took only a couple televised races to make. (76 and 79 Daytona 500's)

It's all a bunch of politically correct bullchit. Let them beat and bang, cuss and swear, and fight their asses off, and you'll see sponsorship and TV ratings skyrocket.

Slow the damm cars down, take the spoilers off and let the guy with the biggest balls drive the deepest into the corner and hope it sticks.

I'm with you Dave. I attend 1 or 2 races every year, kind of an annual father / daughter deal (Charlotte in October). Jackie, I had the same thoughts, but they did show Boyers' flat right front.

Sorry haters. I enjoyed every minute of last nights Richmond race. Parking Skinner was just common sense. And Bowyer had a flat. No conspriracy there.

The Chase has been the best thing since television for NASCAR. The old points system never rewarded for wins. Just consistency. It took the Dale Sr. style of playing the numbers style racing before the rules changes. It makes it more interesting and it def makes these guys not want to ride for a top five of days of old. To an extent. Jr. has been no lower than 7th all year and stayed in third for 11 of those. Suckin daddys coatails the entire time. I love him, but he sucks. Didn't want to see Gordon lose a tire either. And Jimmy Johnson will be starting a second hand with Championship rings this year as he has the best car, crew, and talent out there.

And it sure beats stick and ball sports any day of the week. And I can't deal with drag racing coverage. That lends well to attending. Just not watching.

Just my opinion so you know I am right! LOL.

I never said I didn't like the Chase Format.

I have always been a Gordon fan, my 35 year old daughter, a school teacher, is a die hard Kyle Bush girl.

I know Gordon isn't the driver he used to be. But what he is now is still better than most.

I guess you failed as a father there... l:)

I've been a Gordon fan since he came on in '93.. and an Earnhardt Sr. fan before/during that time. For me, NASCAR kinda died with Sr... now we might as well shovel dirt on it..

Personaly, I'm gonna root for the underdog in the Chase... Kurt Busch..

If you see the code phrases the team passed to Boyer, the run down on positions a lap or two earlier, it makes it pretty clear it was set up. It cost Gordon and Newman. Granted a guy shouldn't wait till the last minute of the last race to get in, but that's how it works out. Would have been neat if Newman won and got in. Tony Stewart fired his crew chief that took him to a championship. Gave Newmans pit crew and team to Danica Patrick ( a back marker) and Newman had to use and get used to a new team this year. Newman is the best driver on the team and he loses his job.
Tony gets hurt driving a sprint car, sponsors don't like it, Haas doesn't like it, Haas hires Busch on his own and decides to pay him from his own pocket, after Tony says the teams are not strong enough to support a 4th team yet!

But, as stated above, there's only a couple races that are really enjoyable anymore. Richmond is usually one of them.

Funny that Edwards got a one car jump on Menard last night on the last re-start and Nascar let it stand. They basically took a win away from Johnson for the same thing earlier this year. I think laqst night by the time Jarret kept pointing it out, Carl had the flag and was celebrating and they didn't want to upset things! I would imagine Jarret was told to quiet down after the second time he brought it up!! I think I can find the info on Bowyers and will post a link here if I can.

I've just about quit watching NASCAR altogether! :(
I worked on the A26 until 10pm last night (started at 8am). I was dead tired when I got home at 1045pm and felt good--------------------no frustrations! I was once the greatest NASCAR fan on the planet-------------not anymore! SAD! :noway:

Here is the USA Today quotes about Bowyer, if this doesn't sound like some kind of setup, you explain why they tell him where Truex is in the running and than this code stuff about his arm and he should itch it. And then suddenly he spins out. It is a team sport and this is really just team players working together.

Audio replayed by ESPN after the race had spotter Brett Griffin telling Bowyer the circumstances of the race, followed by two odd comments from crew chief Brian Pattie:

"Is your arm starting to hurt?" Pattie said. "I bet it's getting hot in there. Itch it."

Bowyer then spun out.

I used to watch Jeff Gordon race sprint cars every Friday night at Bloomington Speedway when he was 15 years old. He was tough to beat on dirt.

he was falling back and wiggling around a bit during the lap leading up to the spin, and he drove away from it with a flat right front tire...

regarding adding more spots to the chase: it wouldn't be the first time they did it... they expanded it from 10 to 12 after Dale Jr didn't make it, but they waited until the next season to do it... one way they could revamp it going forward would be to reset the points for everyone before the last 10 races, but don't limit it to only the top 12 guys being able to win it.. how cool would it be to see someone seeded 15th going into the chase just absolutely dominate and walk away with the Cup (well, whatever the hell that new trophy that Sprint gives out every year is supposed to be...)? realistically, someone out of the top 10 probably wouldn't get it, anyways, but it would avoid big names and their big $$$ sponsors technically being left out of contention with almost a third of the season left..
