i bought a f.m. converter off a gentleman in our classiffied section. i'm not into expensive sterio's in cars, when the $ could go other places, thus i'm usually stuck with an a.m. radio, which in socal sucks, it's all talk radio here.

anyway, for a decent sum, i bought an f.m. converter which he had several of. it took all of four minutes to install, and comes in clear as day. mounted to the ash tray frame, and is within easy reach.

gotta love the simple things. makes an untalented dude like me, feel like he accomplished something....

dude, it was so easy. i hadn't even seen an f.m. converter for years, and all of a sudden a guy in our classifieds had three different brands, and i think he sold them all in about a day.

anyway, pulled the antenna wire out of the a.m. radio, stuck it in the f.m. converter, put a plug from the converter into the a.m. radio, then splice in a hot wire. tune the a.m. radio to 1400, tune the f.m. converter to desired station, and your done....

i think i'll keep this little gem, it may go from car to car. i really don't know if they are available, they could be all over e-bay for all i know, i might even have paid too much (i don't really know) but it beat spending a ton of $ on something that didn't look right, or had to have a specialist to hook up. and no disrespect, but i've had a lot of young guys look at it, and they had crazy ideas of hacking in all kinds of crazy stuff. heck all i want is one friggin f.m. channel in the morning to listen to...

Mark and Brian?

I miss those guys. They used to be syndicated out here on one of the classic rock stations. They left years ago. Just like all the good shows. We don't get Alice Cooper anymore, either.

Mark and Brian?
YEP, yesterday they were in l.a. for 22 years.

i've listened to them since thier second day on the air. i'm listener number 12 (show joke, everybody is listener 12 out of 43), i was the guy who took them the kid who could burp the alphabet (he's now a grown man).

yes, they are idiots (so am i ), but they just strike me funny. i've been threw two jobs, two wives with them. i've listened to everything from mark having kids (which are all grown) to mark's wife fighting breast cancer. had several occasions to meet them at the countless charity benefit events. they are just good positive guys, and brian is as funny as they get, and what guy doesn't live vicariuosly threw his dating stories.

i tried to listen to stern, and even though he is quite bright, he is just mean spirited, and i don't need that to get threw the day, and rush is just a drunken buffoon.

darren, you can listen to them on your computer, mark&brian.com, they simulcast.

so, mark and brian keep a smile on my face, they are my age, so i relate, and i try to support most of thier charity events.
