havent seen one of these on the road for decades...save for a 70 something here in town

Had a 71 SST 401 in the 80s. Puke orange, missing a grille but had white buckets and a 401 my introduction to torque. Bone stock was a burnout machine loved it.
Wonder what a ballpark decent driver would run nowadays?
For some reason those cars never caught on.

1 of my uncles had a white with black int. 68 or 69 in the mid 70's, don't remember the engine but it was a sharp car, I guess AMC gave the muscle car thing a try but everyone wanted a Big 3 muscle car, remember Rambler Scramblers?

Maybe mid 90s had a chance to buy a pale yellow 70 AMX 4 spd with AC for $3500...I was literally a day short.
Love that yr..my grandfather in NM bought the same color 68 Jav new, remember riding in it as a kid.
Front grille looked real aggressive. 15k for a decent driver really isnt bad
Who woulda thought most any old car would bring the $ they do today?
Paid $400 for my SST bought it from a drug dealer lol

Would love to own a Rambler Scrambler but prices on them have gone thru the roof with an average value around 50K.They surprised a lot of muscle cars back in the day.

My late neighbor was a wrench in an AMC dealership back in the 70s and had some cool stories about some of the cars.
My mother had a white Gremlin back in the day, and my wife drove a Pacer as a teen.
I have always admired the AMCs.
