I just received my summit branded TH400 rebuild kit. Turns out to be an Alto Products Corp Rebuild kit, which in itself I'm assuming to be an excellent product. The kit certainly looks of a high quality, but this if my first TH400. The kit is summit Part # 705021.

Question is of the pump and center support sealing rings. My 68 core has Iron hook rings, the new kit has the Orange Teflon angle split type rings. The included Alto ring package states "1971 and on". Part # 0316000T.

Should I source new iron rings, or will I be fine with the new Orange rings in the kit? Will they even work?

I'd read somewhere that Iron is more desirable overall.

This is a warm street only 496, 3.55 gear, heavy car.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Mark
