th350 kick down cable does it control any kind of line pressure?

i understand its needed for down shifting on its own, but if i unhook it does it effect anything else. like line pressure or govenor shift points.

im pretty sure it only controls the down shifts and dont effect anything else. but i want to hear from other if my thinking is right on.

i was going to leave the kick down cable off my tunnel ram set up just so the linkage set up would be easier and cleaner look.

i have it hooked up now but i was thinking just unhooking it and tie the cable back behind the engine for when ever i change my mind about the tunnel ram set i can just hook it back up.

i have seen many folks run at the track with no kick down cable and of course i didnt think it controlled line pressure any.

but if it does control line pressure then i will leave it hooked up because i would want all the pressure i could get on the clutches.

what would happen if i just pull the cable out tight on the end and secure the kick down cable so it acts like it is floored all the time?

what would happen if i pull the kick down cable out tight like it is floored and secure it and just leave it like that and let the cable rest behind the engine and just not have it hooked up to the tunnel ram set up.
