Is it possible to get a th 400 to shift (manually) at a higher rpm at WOT without going into the governor? If I unplug the vacuum line to the module can I shift it manually at a higher rpm, if so will it hurt the transmission? The tranny shifts out of low gear at 5000 rpm's and I want to shift at 5800-6000.

With the modulator vacuum unplugged it will shift like it was at WOT all the time. The vacuum modulator adjusts part throttle shift points. Light throttle=high vacuum=low shift points. WOT=low vacuum=high shift points. The governor controls max shift rpms.
