I need some help here!! I'm rebuilding a TH350 for my 70' Chevelle. I want to O/H the trans & change my trans case since I have Buick/Olds Case in my car right now. How can I tell if the chevy case I have is a older or newer style. Since I have two trans units. From the outside they both look the same but insides are abit differant. I want to install a shift kit in the valve body. I found out that they list 2 types of kits!! 68-81' & 80-86'. Any hints would help me out!! I do rebuild Ford Trans all the time being a Ford Tech!!!!
Thanks BigLew!!

I'm thinking the newer style would be a TH350C, with lock-up converter. They have an electrical wiring connection in the case, just above the pan.

thats correct however there are differences among the non lock up 350s as well although they are interchangable.the amount of clutches in each pack as well as the valve body and governor calibration is based on the vehicle weight and engine output .68 to early 70s units used a different detent link and spring .
