Now that both insurance companies have looked at the car and have pictures, I can start to take it apart!! Spent about 4 hours on it Thursday and another 4 or so on Saturday. Here's what I've got done so far:

You can really see the bend now. Plus it looks a little bent behind the cross member.

Other side is a little off as well. You can see the steering box is touching the power steering pulley.

Motor and trans to come out next.

Jason,
Good start on the tear down. Anyword yet on what Allstate is going to contribute?
Are you going to replace the entire frame?
Good luck on the build!
We will be keeping up with the project. Good luck and keep us informed. Jb

Dont know yet what Allstate is doing. They were trying to determine if the car would be a total to them as well. I'm pretty sure with the frame damage it will be.

As far as the frame, I dont know yet. Once I get the motor/trans out, I'll probaby take it to a couple of frame shop's to get a couple of opinions. I do have another frame lined up if I need to go that route.
That's just a crying shame.......At least she's getting fixed up, keep up the good work there
Jason, looks like you needed a lower rad hose anyways :D Seriously, glad your working on your car, and not looking for another. I followed the other thread closely. Keep us up to date. Looking forward to more of your posts, Daren
Jason-

Got your PM on FSC. I have been keeping an eye on the progress, but haven't said anything because I am at a loss for words.

I can relate to your situation..... a couple years back my 69 got hit by another student at my high school ( bent frame, crushed front end, all the good stuff ). I got it all straightened out and I know you will too.

Do keep us updated.....I'm keeping up even though I might not be saying anything. :) Keep up the good work. Wish I was closer so I could help out
If you have another frame lined up, I'd grab it.

Ditto. I'm having a hard time visualizing how the passenger fender and hood will ever line up properly. Swapping frames is more painless than you think. The hard part is not going nuts on getting all the parts you ever wanted for suspension and brakes since you have everything apart...ask me how I know about that.
Quick update. I sent the pictures of the frame to my insurance people and they want to come back out so that they can see it now that all of the sheet metal is out of the way and get a better idea as to the extent of the damage. The adjuster is coming out on Monday. Bad part about that is I was going to pull the drivetrain tomorrow but I think I'll leave it so that they can see how much the frame has shifted. Especially since they thought the only frame damage was on the passenger side. I'll let you guys know what happens.

A couple of the guys I go four wheeling with stopped by last night and we pulled the motor.

So here's where I leave it for now. I'll probably pull the trans tonight after work.

Wow I cant believe that frame damage. It was like a 99 maxima that hit you right? That maxima must be trashed. Have you strangled that guy yet?:D Hope you get it fixed quick & painless!
So I met up with a guy to check out some parts and it turns out he's a member on here! :D Very nice guy, his real name is Jeff, I forgot to ask what his user name was though. He has a gorgeous red 70 LS6 coupe with white stripes and a black 70 conv. with white top and stripes.

Any way, I got a like new radiator core support with frame brackets and grille brackets, outside bumper brackets, bumper light assemblies, hood latch/release mechanism and he threw in a pair of fender extensions.
Just talked to the guy with the parts, his user name here is ZRWHAT.

Thanks again Jeff!
looks good cant wait to see it done, reminds me of m front end accident my frame did not get bent but, it messed up my glass cowlhood, and everything from bumper back had to be replaced...but now its bigger and better, and im sure yours will be too. good luck!!!!:hurray:
