Any difference besides looks? I just received a set of the GM Performance covers in the mail and they're significantly shorter than the ones I have on my 454 in my 68.. Any difference or anything I should worry about swapping out tall for short? Thanks folks.

Not sure (dumb I know). Bought the car with the built 454 and got her right off into the body/paint shop. I imagine I'll find out soon enough if the covers clear the existing rockers.. Thanks for the comment though. RJ

Tall on her now.. Doesn't mess with brake setup. Hoping the cooler Chev Perf 454 covers aren't too short for the existing rockers (again, dumb I know, but not sure what's under the existing covers)..

If you ever are going to run a stud girdle , you will need tall valve covers.I know my stock aluminum GM valve covers where 1/2 inch to short for my scorpion rockers,

But if I got shorter lock nuts and maybe a real thick valve cover gasket, they might fit.

I went with fabricated aluminum ones.

How about the best of both worlds. The taller slant covers from Ground Up is what I'm going with.
