My assembly manual shows them too but it is stamped "cancelled" on the page so they must have had a change of heart. It never did see production. My '71 owner's manual also has a picture showing a body colored front bumper with the D88 hood stripes continuing down onto the front bumper. That obviously never got the 'OK' either.
Tail gate stripes
I was just going thru my assembly manual for my 71 elky when I came across specs to put the hood stripes also on tailgate. I have never seen an elky w/ tailgate stripes. This must have been an option and personally i don't know how it would look. does anybody have them and was it an option?
