I have a 1969 chevelle 396bbc ford 9in on 10in slicks. I want to launch it at 4500rpm. Currently it has a saginaw 4 speed which I know is not going to handle that kind of launch. I bought a super T10 super heavy duty 9310 in good condition. I was told that although this is a good trans the case will crack near the bottom. Should I run this trans or should I sell in and get a heavy duty 5 speed like a richmond? And how much is a trans like mine worth?

Thanks

The Super T10 will handle quite a bit. what kind of power does the engien produce and what does the car ET currently? My original unrebuilt M21 has been in my car behind the 406sbc for 7 years, launch at 5000rpm, 3400lb plate with super connector disc, with no troubles and well over 150 passes. If it caan handle it, a Super T10 can too.

I think for an OEM casting the Super T10 case is a little better, jsut check the gear ratios you have. make sure it'll work for you...other than that it'll hold up fine.

I've got a set of 2.88 Liberty's gears for that trans available.

The 9in has 3.90 gears I striped the ring and pinion on my 12 bolt. The car has a centerforce dual friction clutch and I would guess the engines around 400ft/lb and 400hp. The fastest et was 14.5 at 100.77mph starting in second with a easy launch because it was on skinny street tires. I blew the diff off the line on the first run with slicks.
