I just installed this tach, it was used from my brother (it worked), but with the engine running at various rpms, the tach never goes above 1500 rpms. It bounces around a bit as well,on the highway it will go from 1200 to 200 and back. Double checked the wiring, and it all looks good. Checked the cylinder setting and its good to. Any ideas ???? Thanks.

Not sure if I know the answer to this one but I'll try.
What type of distributor do you have? Where did you tie the tach ground lead to?

John, thanks for any help, the distributor is a stock hei off another 350 that I had in the shop. I put the ground to the same ground as the radio, which works fine. However I will double check that ground because that is something I havent checked, Thanks again.
