I purchased a blast cabinet and am very satisfied with it except they cheaped out on the viewing window. It is made of plexiglass which gets hazed over time. My question is has anyone replaced this window with glass or something else.Any input is welcome. Thanks ,Brian

If you go to Tractor Supply, you will find the clear plastic covers that go on the inside of your glass or plexiglass. They have adhesive edges and when they get frosted, you tear them off and put on another. I just bought a pack of 5 for $10, I think.

I have an older Snap-On cabinet with a glass window and rubber gasket around it. I replaced that original piece of glass many years ago with a piece that lays over the opening with duct tape around the edges to keep it in place. The replacement glass is not the right size, but I use whatever I find and it is a lot cheaper then getting a piece cut to size with rounded corners. I put one of these clear tear offs inside.

Brian,
I bought the cheapo cabinet for $200 from Harbor Freight. It serves my purpose. I broke the glass, (dropped something on it) and had to replace it. It is 1/4" thick by whatever L x W and any glass store can cut it for you. I do not have tempered but that is available. Also if you get a TP tool catalog you can buy the plastic protector sheets that you apply over the glass and change out whenever it gets foggy from the sand blast media. I use black beauty and it needs to be changed quite a bit.

I put a piece of Auto glass in my summit blaster and it works excellent. Was left over at the local glass shop and they cut it for me for $15 I think. No need to even use the protective covers. Just wipe it off when it gets dirty. I use my cabinet alot with black beauty, glass beads, and garnet and have yet to scratch the glass.
