Well, I had a problem with my headers and their lack of access to the oil filter and plugs. I had ordered a set of "Brand D" headers and was less then satisfied with their fit. Well, I called today to tell them about it. I wasn't complaining, looking for reperations, a new set or anything, I just wanted to tell them that the peice did not fit well and they should advise you before you buy.

The salesperson actually sounded concerned. He asked if I still had the box, and I said no. He said to pick out a different set, and he would send them to me and asked to return the other ones i have in another box (I threw out the "Brand D" box) I said that the "Brand D" were scrated from the install. He said don't worry about it and that he would take care of it. They sent out a set of "Brand H" today and will send a return slip, with payed UPS, to send the old ones back to them.

So, instead of 'vendor bashing' I will do some vendor supporting. Summit really has teh "customer is #1 philosophy" and gets 2  from me.

I'm glad they took care of you. I have had similar good support from Jegs. They sent me a set of BBC Camaro headers for my Chevelle. They obviously did not fit and I was upset. I knew for sure I would be screwed because I tried to install these a year later after the purchase. They let me return them with no problem. Even after I clearanced the flanges for ARP head bolts.

I hope someone from Summit reads your post and figures out that helping us out is in there best interest. You might even write the company a "Thank You" letter.

Very Cool! :D

I use Summit 95% of the time...always treated me right!
This may change though. Summit is building a LARGE facility just south of Atlanta.
I believe when that place opens, they will have to start charging sales tax because they're doing business within the state. :(
I'll probably shift my business to Barnett's...a local speed shop with pricing equal to Summit/Jeg's.

I have had two recent great experinces with Summit too. I had a Quick steer unit that 2:1 and took a huge effort to trun the steering. I was less than satisfied, so I was looking at there return policy and noticed they had a 90 garuntee. I called and told them I really didn't care for it, and they simply exchanged it. It was 70 days later, I thought I was screwed. I also had a starter that died after just one day of usage, told them I had to buy another one in town (was getting ready for a race the next day), they just had me send back the bad starter and they refunded my money with no hesitation.

I have always had the best customer service from Summit, and I have had more than 100 orders over the years. They have never made a mistake for me either, although I always know the part numbers for items I want.

Another voter for Summit, they're all I've ever dealt with.

But it seems like Jegs has lower advertised prices....hhmmm what's the catch?

Summit has free shipping, and I know some of the stuff they ship costs alot to have it shipped. Must be some sort of discount they get??

I've had success with both Jegs and Summit. One time Jegs sent me the wrong oil pump driveshaft. At times they repackage parts they receive from the manufacturer. Well, they actually packaged the driveshaft wrong. Had the right part number but an inch too small. I was not happy because I was ready to fire up an engine after I installed in my Chevelle. Was like a kid at Christmas dieing to get it running. Called them and they thought I was crazy and say I'd have to pay $30 to have another one shipped next day. About an hour later they called me to apologize. Said they would ship a new one for free and to keep the other one. I think they must have checked their stock and realized they were all incorrect. I probably saved them the trouble of shipping a bunch of the wrong parts out.....

Right now have been buying weekly from Summit. Everytime they have what I want in stock and delivered the next day. I ordered 3 items from OPG last week, (35 miles away) took 2 days plus the person over the phone acted like he didn't care to be there. Summit is the Bomb !!!!

 Talk about Summit's customer support!!

I just got off the phone with a representive of Summit's Marketing Dept.
He called me...at work!
Evidently, Summit reads these types of posts as one method of gauging customer satisfaction. This rep called me to express Summit's thanks for me being a loyal customer and to extend their sincere hopes of my continued support after the GA facility is opened.

Ok, Bill, come clean.
Your working for Summit, right?

They have treated me right also.
I love driving down there and just walking around all the hypo parts. :D

All they need now is a bar and a "pit crew" something like hooters girls, kinda like Quaker Steak and Lube. If you guys know what that is.
Could buy hot rod parts, get a beer and some wings and have a cute little
"grease monkey" bring it to you. How cool would that be? :D
