Hi, I have not posted here much, But I would like to ask a Question. After reading posts about tire sizes I have decided to replace the stock 14 ralleyes on my 69 Malibu with 15 inch Cragars. I called Summit and they have a good deal on them with the tires mounted. I wanted 235/60/15 BFG Radial TA's on 15x7 's. They have 225/60/15's in stock. Would these be a good choice? I don't want too narrow of a tire, But also I don't want any rubbing issues. I guess what I am asking is would there be a bigger tire size I could go to without issues ? I really did not want to wait to order them because I live close to Summit and can pick them up. I just want a nice Classic look with some meatier tires.

I would try and go with something bigger than 225/60 if I were you. I have the same wheels with 235's on my 70 and to me they look too small compared to the 275's on the back. There is a big gap between the fender and the outside of the tire. If you are looking for meatier tires, go with 245/60 or 255/60. They sell both of those for that size wheel just pull out a summit mag and check it out. Just my opinion. By the way do you live near the Tallmadge, Oh store? I was up there about a month ago for first time, really liked their setup. Hope I helped anyways.

Thanks for your reply. I live about 45 minutes away from the Tallmadge store. Do you have any problem with the 275/60's on the back of your Chevelle rubbing? Do you happen to know what backspacing they are? I am trying to make a decision so I can call them and they can mount the wheels and I can go pick them up. This whole Wheel and tire size thing is a bit confusing and I am am Dying to get my Chevelle out of the Garage. Thanks for your help.
