Well guys im looking to find a summer job. I am studying chemical engineering at the University of Toledo, and i had a few interviews with companies such as marathon oil, and sunoco oil, both of which declinded me because my gpa (3.1) wasent high enough. I currently work part time at autozone but would like to get out in the field and do something other than sell parts. What are some options or good jobs to try and get? No fast food been there done that and im sick of autozone. I would like to be more of a desk job type position and i cant get a summer co-op now its too late, so i need to find something else.

Any ideas? that have decent pay, i would be working pretty much full time monday-friday from may till august.

I'm always looking for help here in Michigan, but with 34 bars in this resort town its hard to find someone with a drivers license. Plus its outside work not a desk job.

chemical engineering huh? With starting a Meth lab out of the equation... :D
I'd try Monster jobs... Build yourself a profile and the jobs are emailed to you... Or try temp agencies. Sometimes temp agencies can lead to more prosperous jobs. Have you tried your local work force center?

Not sure what you want to do or willing to accept, but around here the top paying jobs for unskilled workers is plant laborers. I'd bet you could earn 10 or 12 dollars an hour assisisting welders, bricklayers, pipefitters, etc.

It would be beneficial to get a job related to your field if possible. It really shines on a resume. How about working as a plant worker at a "chemical" place. This would familiarize you with equipment and have "keywords" on your resume that would come up with job searches.

From 15 years old to after graduating college, I had about 10-12 jobs. Some sucked but were worth the learning experience. One is currently saving me $80 a month (Cableguy!!!!).

Try something new that may be helpful in the future, construction, painting, etc....
