Finished Blue El Camino but didn't like the temp of the car at normal operation...210 +

Spent several hours checking and rechecking top to bottom.....scratching my head

Last item I checked was the thermostat to confirm I installed a 180 degree one.

Somehow a 195 degree one was installed......

Replaced it with 180 and NOW the ELKY runs at 160-180 degrees.....STUPID SOMETIMES!

We all make mistakes. Some just are not inclined to tell anyone. Frail egos perhaps? If that's the only problem you had after a restoration, you did excellent work.

That's why they put erasers on pencils, Everyone makes mistakes.

Thanks, at least it runs cool now.....some motors just never run cool as you want them to..!

Yeah, I've got a 160 in mine and it still runs 200 degrees or so in heavy traffic.
