Base Orange and Clear are on and wet-sanded.

Black stripes were added over the cleared, then re-cleared and wet-sanded.

PROBLEM: the stripes as they are incorrect (don't follow cowl edge and are same width front2back, and they are not straight.)

His approach is to re-spray more orange for body, black for stripes and reclear.

Is that the only option or would sanding through the clear to the stripes be an option.

Remember the stripes are on top of the clear (over the body color) so will not mess with the original body color.

Very difficult,if not impossible to sand down and not break thru here or there.And any chemical stripper will attack the good stuff too.Its a redo.

Strip and repaint, it's the only way.

The only way to fix it is to strip the stripes and repaint.

Needs stripped, because if you don't you'll see the outline of where the stripes are now, in the new stripes.
