My 555 is around ~900 on pump 93. It's not very street friendly. When it had less cam, (hydraulic roller) gear and made around 750 it was much more enjoyable to drive. If I was going to drive it more I'd put a 3.50 gear in with less camshaft, probably still make 800 and be a lot more street able.
I was thinking 3.25 - 3.50 gear, it might be giving up a little 1/4 mile performance but would be more street friendly.
What size cams are/were they?

NICELY PREPPED THEN! 馃憤 Well, JBoggs and his "SLOVELLE" with the milder cam seems to have your ticket there chief! 4.6X 4 it is! :) I'm sure you know this but to not assume, I only posted the Blueprint thing for "hypothetical" reasons, and from what i've heard on Shafiroff, not for my 15K thank you.

To me tho, A KNOWN PRO is required to get this build to last and do what you want it to do! Like Mike, Scott, Carl, Mark, etc. A few excellent ones haunt these pages, Good luck man! 600 was /is PLENTY for me!

Both custom from Straub. The HR was on a 107 something like 258/268 just under .700. I've got the cam card somewhere.... Way more street friendly and the power was useable.

This is the SR with the addition of head/induction. Can't go near the throttle without blowing the tires off. Also wants to idle at 1200-1300 RPM. Just my experience with a couple different combinations.

So how about something like this?

4.600 x 4.00
AFR 335s
Roller cam in the 260-270ish @.050 range.
Super victor w/ Dominator
In Vizards BBC books he states a well sorted combo will make 1.4 ft-lbs per cube and require 4 cfm of head flow at peak valve lift per HP per cylinder. Looks like you鈥檙e covered.

Well I must confess to my little charade.

I just got back home from visiting Mike Lewis and picking up the new engine for the Lemans.
Quick parameters;

4.600" bore.
4.00'"stroke crank.
6.585" rods.
Custom 12-1 pistons.
AFR 335s.
Solid roller 268/271 @ .050 .799/ .782
Super Victor (home ported)
1050 Dominator

Any guesses on power figures?

Yes it is I guess I'm looking to have my cake and eat it too.
Thinking of 4.600 x 4.00. with a longer rod over the 4.500 x 4.25 (unshroud the valves, reduce windage, and piston speed/pin placement)

And Yes, I recently did frame/suspension mods to the Lemans in preparation.
Boxed the factory frame and added reinforcements, installed adjustable lower control arm frame mounting points.
Custom trans. crossmember for exhaust clearance.
UMI Chromoly adjustable upper and lower control arms w/roto-joints.
Team Z ARB
Viking D/A shocks.

Along with a Moser M9 is on its way to replace the 12 bolt.

You aren't going very far or fast with that rubber.Do you realize the torque generated with 800 hp on tap? you're gonna need a lot more tire! Just sayin' Tom.. PS. Don't forget about the rest of the drive train upgrades you will need.
Good luck with your project.

With 12:1 will that run pump gas? I do know it's a big solid roller, but just asking.

Not when you lean on it.
It might though with retarded timing just putting around.

I can't say enough about Mike as an individual.
As for the work he does , and engines that he produces, well I think this little N/A 532 will speak for that.

Mike, again THANK YOU very much.

Maybe more than even your newly prepped chassis can handle! 馃憤

Picked the right dude to quarterback that build too! BANG = 10 ring = 850! ( at a real good shift point too - I miss my upper 6000 rpm shift points - but am 100% satisfied with the "measly" 600/600 from the MJ467)
